Nucleus colonies

A nucleus is a starter-sized honeybee colony.

Our nucleus colonies are raised in North Devon and headed by a locally bred queen.

Each nucleus hive is carefully nurtured to establish a robust and productive population. This makes it the perfect choice for expanding your apiary.

We raise nuclei on both ‘British standard’ brood frames and the larger ’14×12′. However, Commercial, Langstroth, Smith, Rose and even Top Bar are available to order.

Talks and workshops

I have been keeping bees since the late 1990s and been leading workshops for many years since then. Other topics include Permaculture and Traditional Orchard Management.

I am happy to give talks at events, festivals, clubs and other organisations.
